AIcura
Retinal screening workflow for capstone expo demonstration

From a retinal scan to a clearer prototype health report.

AIcura is a retinal insight platform built around a practical screening flow: validate the uploaded fundus image, run a prototype cardiovascular follow-up branch, run diabetes-oriented retinal screening, and present the results in a clear educational report. The long-term path is to upgrade the heart workflow with a task-specific RETFound checkpoint.

AIcura does not store submitted questions on its own server. Because retinal images and patient details are sensitive medical data, the demo is designed around privacy-first handling and users should avoid entering identifying information.

Current And Planned Capabilities

Current live experience

A streamlined interface accepts retinal uploads, validates the image, and returns a structured prototype screening report.

Retinal upload pipeline

The workflow now checks whether the image is likely to be a retinal fundus photo before any screening output is shown.

Heart-health factor model

The architecture is ready for a future RETFound-based heart model when a task-specific checkpoint becomes available.

Diabetes factor model

A diabetes-oriented retinal screening branch already contributes structured educational follow-up guidance in the live demo.

Platform Roadmap

1. Live today

Users upload a retinal image or ask a health-related question and receive an educational response through the live demo workflow.

2. Retinal intake

The platform validates whether the uploaded image looks like a retinal fundus image before allowing screening output.

3. Prototype analysis

The current build combines a prototype cardiovascular follow-up branch with diabetes-oriented retinal screening.

4. Guided output

Results are presented as a professional-looking educational report with safety notes rather than a clinical diagnosis.

Privacy And Safety

AIcura provides educational information only and does not diagnose medical conditions.
Submitted questions are not stored on the AIcura application server.
Requests are forwarded to the configured AI provider for processing in real time.
Retinal scans and patient details are treated as sensitive medical data and should be handled with extra care.
Users should avoid entering names, addresses, birth dates, or other personal identifiers during demos.
